There’s not a one size fits all answer to this, but typically a single double glazing window will cost approx £300 – £600, but this can vary from installation to installation. There are many variables when it comes to double glazing windows for example the style such as tilt & turn or sash, to the materials which are chosen like uPVC or aluminium.
Yes, double glazing can of course be repaired. In fact, repairs can be a much cheaper solution than buying whole new window units. Although, it does depend on the degree of damage your windows have sustained. Speak to one of our experts and we can truthfully access the damage and be honest whether a repair or a new unit would require installation.
Generally, double glazing has a lifespan of around 25 to 30 years, sometimes even longer should you take care of your windows. Obviously, your windows do feel the full extent of the weather, so if you live in locations where you experience harsher weather conditions this will reduce the lifespan of the windows.
Triple glazed windows are more energy efficient and substantially reduce noise from outside, but they may not always be necessary. Should you live in a cold environment it may make sense to choose triple glazing over double, as less heat will escape and less cold air will enter.
