Benefits Of Glazewise Double Glazed Windows

Replacing old single glazed windows, or older less efficient double glazed windows, is a worthwhile upgrade to any property due to the many benefits it brings.

Energy efficient windows
Maximise Energy Potential

Having single glazed or poor performing double glazed windows will cause a reduction in energy efficiency. Replacing your old windows with new double glazed windows will reduce the amount of heat you lose through them. This will make your home more energy efficient and save you money on your heating bills.

Reduce Outdoor Noise

Hearing constant noise from outside can be very distracting. This is especially noticeable should you live on a busy road with a constant stream of traffic going by. Our top rated double glazed windows reduce the amount of noise that can be heard inside, creating a more relaxing environment.

FAQ

Most frequent questions and answers

There’s not a one size fits all answer to this, but typically a single double glazing window will cost approx £300 – £600, but this can vary from installation to installation. There are many variables when it comes to double glazing windows for example the style such as tilt & turn or sash, to the materials which are chosen like uPVC or aluminium.

Yes, double glazing can of course be repaired. In fact, repairs can be a much cheaper solution than buying whole new window units. Although, it does depend on the degree of damage your windows have sustained. Speak to one of our experts and we can truthfully access the damage and be honest whether a repair or a new unit would require installation.

Generally, double glazing has a lifespan of around 25 to 30 years, sometimes even longer should you take care of your windows. Obviously, your windows do feel the full extent of the weather, so if you live in locations where you experience harsher weather conditions this will reduce the lifespan of the windows.

Triple glazed windows are more energy efficient and substantially reduce noise from outside, but they may not always be necessary. Should you live in a cold environment it may make sense to choose triple glazing over double, as less heat will escape and less cold air will enter. It may also make sense to upgrade to triple glazing should you live in a very busy area where lots of traffic passes by or people gather, such as a town or city centre.

A common occurrence with single panel windows is the build up of condensation. This occurs when the warm air inside the property meets the surface of the cold window. Double glazing will reduce and even eliminate condensation. This is achieved by a double glazed unit by having a space between the outside and inside glass. This stops the cold air and warm air meeting reducing or stopping the build up of condensation.
